Happy Feet

Apologies for lack of blogging last week folks. Let's just say it was a truly crazy week all round (more on this soon) so bring back normality soon please ;)

Looking forward to Alix and Zach's wedding this coming Saturday followed by a rather exciting shoot featuring some of the finest UK wedding suppliers the week after.

In the meantime I'm been thinking about shoes this morning. Let's be honest. Most bridal shoes are somewhat disappointing. They look old fashioned (not in a good way) and kind of tacky and just wrong somehow. Not to mention how expensive they can be.

Whilst browsing Asos (for work purposes of course), I came across these bad boys. The high street is definitely worth checking out for your bridal attire if these dresses and the shoes below are anything to go by.

Think the shoe boot is my favourite, (plus it's the cheapest).

Pretties to start the week with...

the couple

Not much I don't adore about this couple and their gorgeous budget DIY wedding as seen on Ruffled.

How sweet is the bride's plaited hair and lovely lace wedding dress?

the ring

Stylish, unique and ethical engagement rings by New York based ken + dana design.

You have to check out their site, there are some real beauties on there. Found via live it out photography.

the shoe

Loving this killer wedding shoe seen over at Style Me Pretty. The wedding is full of super gorgeousness.

the star bunting

Always on the look out for new and fresh wedding decor ideas and rather liking this star bunting/ garland. Found over at stylist Mindy Gayer's blog

the prop

Ampersand from an engagement shoot found over at Emmaline Bride. I've been thinking about getting an ampersand tattooed on my ankle but have yet to find the perfect font.

See more Monday Medley's here and here's to a splendid Monday folks :)

Pastel pink brogues

Um, yes please. Brogues. Yes I like very much. Pastel pink. Even better.

Fresh from my post about flat wedding shoes, how ridiculously cool would these be to wear on your wedding day.

Oh and you can buy them for $50 dollars, just click on the image.

Brides and their shoes

Great with short dresses or peeking out of long ones, it's all about the shoes...

A good way to pick up colour from your bouquet and a nice accompaniment to short dresses.

hurrah for sparkly shoes...

Love that little tattoo, been thinking about getting one of my foot too.

What style/colour shoes would you/did you go for on your big day? At the moment I'm loving short 50s dresses and think I'd go for teal or pink heels for the day and something totally different and comfortable later on. The best thing about being a planner and not yet married is that I'm surrounded by gorgeous wedding images and ideas and change my mind frequently about how my wedding will be!

Pink Doc Martens under wedding dress

So I recently bought myself some patent pink DMs from the brand spanking new(ish) store in Spitalfields and I love love love them.

It got me thinking how cool they would be as alternative wedding shoes. Okay so they're not graceful so you might not want to wear them down the aisle and your mum might not like them but....come the evening who wouldn't want to wear these babies on the dancefloor? I'm sure they'll be many people unconvinced so I'm going to do a little fashion shoot soon and prove it!

Shoes!!

Shoes. I've always loved shoes. There's something undeniably satisfying about slipping your feet into a new pair. So I imagine picking wedding shoes to be one of the most fun aspects of wedding planning.
Here are some of my favourite high street shoes that'd be perfect for a colourful creative bride and her maids!
I love love love the colour of these delighfully named Panther Bow Peep heels from Schuh. www.schuhstore.co.uk

I love the stripes and bow combination and completely unapologetic 'drama-queen-ness' of this shoe. It would look very cool with a short flirty 50s style dress. Also from Schuh.

Now yellow might not be the easiest colour to wear but you can't go wrong when it's on your feet. And knowing you've wearing Vivienne Westwood will surely help make you feel special on your big day.
