A Pinterest Monday Medley

I've become rather obsessed with Pinterest of late. It's just perfect for compiling mood boards which is a large (and fun) part of my job.

And so this week's Monday Medley includes mainly images I discovered through the joys of my Pinterest wanderings.

the bouquet

I don't really have words for this bouquet. Just so soft and pretty.

the cake

This mushroom cake is pretty and simple and unique.

From Erica O'Brien via Once Wed

the boutonniere

A sweet way to have those who can't be with you on your big day close to your heart...

via Emmeline Bride

I'm always one for cheap but effective wedding decoration ideas hence the reason these wine bottle centrepieces caught my eye. These would be perfect in a a big open space like a warehouse or similar.

Flowering tea centrepieces

I'm having a bit of a centrepiece moment lately.

I came across this clear teapot and thought it would make a rather cute and original wedding centrepiece.

Teapot via Not On the High Street and flowering tea available at Exotic Teapot

You can actually drink these teas but I like the idea of them as centrepieces. They'd be good at an outdoor reception. Think long wooden benches and a rustic colour scheme. You could just dot these along the tables.

What do you think? Good idea or a step too far?!

Neon centrepieces

I love the idea of these as centrepieces or table numbers. And they're not extortionate either.

Available from Neos Lettering these would look good at a warehouse wedding reception with lots of exposed brick and wood.

What do you think then my lovelies?

Some pretties to start the week with

Good morning all! Hope you've had a grand weekend. I've got lots of lovely wedding work to get on with today and I'm going to squeeze a trip in to see my friend's new born baby.

Here's this week's monday medley

the bouquet

The first blog beauty to present to you is this creative and quite frankly adorable origami bouquet called I Heart You. Such a cute idea and could be adapted as a bridal bouquet quite easily I reckon.

the dress

I'm seeing more sparkly embellished detail in dresses at the moment and this is definitely something I can get on board with, especially when on vintage inspired and neutral coloured dresses. So glamorous and interesting at the same time. Found via the wonderful {this is glamorous}

the diy bar

A french fry (or chip for those from Blighty) bar to be more precise. What a truly good idea. And you can apply it to any food I guess.

the centrepiece

I discovered these on an Etsy trip. Particularly like how it's called Hussy reclaimed succulent stiletto.

I'm always on the lookout for original wedding decoration and these would certainly be interesting centrepieces.

Have a good day!

Photo centrepieces

How sweet is this idea? You could use these holders at your wedding as centrepieces and intersperse flowers and candles around.

Am really feeling a photo vibe at the moment.

Oh, and you can purchase from Etsy. Splendid.

Full of turkey Monday Medley

So my Monday Medley is pretty late today, but what can I say, I've been eating, drinking and watching television, as I hope you have been.

I am now, however, back in the game (and full to the brim). Henceforth from my position on the sofa I bring you my collection of web delights...

the bride

I can't even begin to say how excited I was to see these particular wedding pics. Suffice to say the bride is a friend whose wedding I couldn't make so I'm delighted to see how gorgeous it all turned out!

This photo is awesome.

Strong, glamorous and fierce. This photo says 'bring it on' to me!

Head over to Anna's blog, Love my Dress and Emma Case Photography to see more.

the chalkboard

Love love love these key chalkboards. They remind me of The Secret Garden, all magical and mysterious. Would work wonderfully with a garden wedding reception. And you can buy them on Etsy. Awesome.

the centrepiece

I like the idea of random objects/ unusual centrepieces (I worked on a wedding with origami animal centrepieces once). And these are pretty awesome.

Found via A Beautiful Mess you can buy these on Etsy too!

the bouquet

Have you ever seen such a beautiful bouquet? This wedding seen over at Style Me Pretty is so adorable. The bride did all the DIY elements herself. Gorgeous and making me long for spring.

the cake topper

It's still pretty hard to find cake toppers that aren't a tad boring or dare I say, tacky. But, I've got to say I adore this one.

Found over at Peonies & Pearls and you can buy on Ebay!

That's it! Hope you're all enjoying this strange time between Christmas and New Year!

Blog lovelies for your eyes only

Apologies for the lateness of this week's Monday Medley but my blog took a backseat this weekend what with early birthday celebrations and research for clients to get done.

But I'm back in the game now, so without further ado here's my round up of web lovelies to start the week with.

the couple

Found over at one of my favourite blogs to peruse Green Wedding Shoes

The lace gloves are adorable as is the love tattoo. Click on the photo to see more, the bridesmaids dresses are delightfully mismatched.

the reception

Is there anything more romantic than dining al fresco under the stars (or fairy light stars)? This is a little tricky for UK weddings as the weather is notoriously unpredictable. But if it is at all possible then I think this is a pretty beautiful wedding reception.

the centrepiece

I've always been a fan of mismatched centrepieces, and these copper ones are a nice alternative to the 'shabby chic' look.

the table

The ever changing shape of families and the gradual appreciation for bucking tradition for tradition's sake has led to an increasing number of 'sweetheart tables' at weddings. As in a table just for two. The bride and groom obviously. I have to say I like this for several reasons - it's a little bit different - it avoids complicated top table situations - it allows the bride and groom to talk and actually spend time together on their wedding day (or at least for the meal)!

the drink

Cocktails are a must at weddings as far as I'm concerned. They can be elegant or fun but however you do them they're often a talking point and can look pretty fabulous in photos.

This rose martini is the ultimate romantic drink. Click on the image to find out how to make...

the ring

This Imogen Belfield ring needs no introduction.

Just check this bad boy out.

That's it my dears. I hope your weekend was great and your Monday has been productive and fun!

The best of the best... centrepieces

I must admit I'm a sucker for non floral centrepieces especially those involving books...

Innovative centrepieces

Loving these alternative to floral centrepieces...

Cute little plant pots with mismatched pots made out of... wait for it...socks. Yep that's right, socks. Cheap and cheerful. See here for how to.

Selection of vases in one colour offsets the colour and shape of these blooms delightfully.

I've seen this idea floating around for a while and would love to work on a wedding using them. Perfect for book lovers and if you happen to have plenty of books, uber cheap as well. Plus there are so many ways you can use them...

And for those who love travelling or just like globes...

You can use candles, lanterns, fruit and veg in artful displays - pretty much anything you want - you definitely don't have to fork out for elaborate floral displays, unless you want to of course.

What are your favourite centerpiece ideas?

Blue bottles and delicate flowers

This image is so delectable I want to eat it. It's from Eat Drink Chic for those of you who haven't yet discovered it. Amy Moss' blog does exactly what it says on the tin and provides ' stylish ideas and D.I.Y for parties, weddings...'

Why brides spend hundreds and hundreds on dramatic bouquets I'll never understand because as far as I'm concerned there's nothing more romantic than simple bottles with garden flowers. Lovely to look at on this blustery wet evening.

cost cutting centrepiece idea

I'm not sure how I feel about centrepieces. Whilst they can be beautiful and I also think they cause couples quite a bit of grief (and expense) trying to pick the right ones.

So I like the nice cheap and effective idea of using wine bottles. Now this image from Martha Stewart Weddings uses the wine bottle as table numbers but I see no reason why they can't serve as centrepieces. You could be more creative with the label if you wanted and pair up with tea lights around the base of each bottle for a lovely warm glow if you wanted to make more of it. And you can allow guests to drink the wine in the bottle making for a centrepiece guests will actually get use out of!
