Yellow blooms

We've been having some rather grey and gloomy weather in London lately so here's a post about sunshine yellow bouquets.

Gorgeous billy buttons (native to Austrailia and New Zealand and possibly the best name for a flower or anything ever).

And how phenomanally gorgeous is this bouquet?

Yellow and chocolate brown. Love the twig effect.

Full to bursting with spring meadow loveliness.

I like the blue wrapping which is picked up by the blue bridesmaids.

Cool Grooms part deux

More male yumminess. Click on the photos to go the real weddings. Which one's your fave? I like the spotty tie one best I think but they're all pretty fab.

Homemade heart bunting

How gorgeous is this?! It would be so easy and cheap to make. You could use old newspapers or make it extra special with your favourite book or poem or something that means something to the two of you. Love it!

See it at poppytalk, a blog full of lovely things.

Rock 'n Roll Bride and Julia Boggio Vintage Boudoir

These fabulous boudoir shots are the result of a collaboration between Kat (Rock n Roll Bride) and Julia Boggio.

I doubt there's a single reader of this blog who hasn't heard of Kat and her inspiring blog. I'm really honoured to be given permission to feature this fantastic shoot.

Kat looks like she enjoyed the experience!

The best thing about all this is it's not something you can only look at and admire, you can have a go yourself. It's a perfect gift for a groom to be from his bride to be and vice versa; or it's a perfect present to treat yourself. You get the whole experience and the photos to keep and display for £455 which includes hair and make up and at least 2 costume changes.

One thing's for sure if I decided to do this I certainly wouldn't hide the results away, I'd be displaying them loud and proud in my house for all to see.

For more fabulous photos, don't delay, go here right away. And to book your turn and find out more go to www.juliaboggiostudios.com

Innovative centrepieces

Loving these alternative to floral centrepieces...

Cute little plant pots with mismatched pots made out of... wait for it...socks. Yep that's right, socks. Cheap and cheerful. See here for how to.

Selection of vases in one colour offsets the colour and shape of these blooms delightfully.

I've seen this idea floating around for a while and would love to work on a wedding using them. Perfect for book lovers and if you happen to have plenty of books, uber cheap as well. Plus there are so many ways you can use them...

And for those who love travelling or just like globes...

You can use candles, lanterns, fruit and veg in artful displays - pretty much anything you want - you definitely don't have to fork out for elaborate floral displays, unless you want to of course.

What are your favourite centerpiece ideas?

Vera Wang bridal collection 2010

So I seem to be developing a crush on Vera Wang dresses and these aren't helping...

Ephemeral, feminine, dramatic, romantic, I could stare at them for hours. As a non bride (I know, a weding planner who isn't married) I often think about how I would do my wedding if it was for me rather than a client. And regardless of the rest of the wedding I know my heart would ache for a dress like this. In reality though I'm pretty sure I'd go for something more practical (and less pricy).

Did you wear the dress you thought you would or when it came to it did you make a different decision?
