Love for Lisa!

Lisa Devlin Photography

It's just 48 hours until one of my favourite couples get married and I am so excited about Lisa photographing it.

Not only does Lisa shoot for the coolest couples with the most fabulous looking weddings but she has such a light and joyful way with the camera that I simply cannot wait to see her photos of this wedding that I have so enjoyed working on this summer.

Here's a few pics from a recent wedding on Lisa's blog.

This images and many many more can be seen here and here.

New York, New York

I am going to New York! Woohoo!

I absolutely adore New York. The food, the buildings, the shops, the sheer exhileration at being somewhere I've grown up seeing in tv and film.

I've been a couple of times before, and done all the touristy things I want to.

Hopefully we'll be staying in Williamsburg which is definitely my fave part of the city.

This time I plan to research what I want to, cool restaurants and bars, so I can feel like a New Yorker for a week.

Although this is a holiday to celebrate a very busy summer for Savoir, I would like to do some wedding research. Maybe look at bridal boutiques, check out some venues.

I'm not going until October so please send me your recommendations!

Wedding style & design

Over the past year I've been collecting vintage and non vintage wedding props. It wasn't intended as a business plan initially, I just enjoyed their aesthetic value, but I was increasingly struggling to find affordable bits and bobs to recommend to clients so I thought why not offer my clients the option to hire what they like.

Here's some of my favourite pieces...

This Paragon tea cup makes me feel like such a lady when I drink Earl Grey from it.

I got this gorgeous old clock on Etsy and it cost a small fortune to have it shipped over here but it looks pretty awesome on my bookcase and my next couple have hired it for their wedding on Saturday.

please do ignore random reflection in this photo

This teapot is a favourite because of the worn gold handle. I like imagining the conversations people must have had over the years whilst pouring tea from this delightfully gaudy pot.

I really enjoy scouring car boot sales, vintage markets and looking online for various pieces. I'm not fanatical about them being vintage, they can be vintage inspired or contemporary in fact. My only realy rule is I don't buy anything I wouldn't want at my wedding/ in my home.

I'm really looking forward to launching this new service to my current and future clients and I'm also pretty excited about the fact this means I have a legitimate excuse to go shopping. Rejoice!

50s style wedding

First up, this wedding is fab. Playful, silly and fun. And I love the 50s feel to it all. But it's the photography and mainly the photographer that's the real reason I wanted to post it.

I discovered Al Overdrive through Rock N Roll Bride and after checking out his website and blog I knew I wanted to add him to my list of suppliers.

I'm usually a fan of the soft focus, vintage photography, all nude palettes and tulle like fabrics, if you read lots of wedding blogs you know the ones I mean. However, I really like Al's use of colour, and the clean, sharp images.

Al's not your typical wedding photographer ( no white round tables and tacky chair backs here), he started in forensic photography and he recently won Best Photographer by the UK Tattoo Industry.

And he doesn't just shoot weddings, oh no Mr Overdrive (not his real name by the way) photographs for music and fashion industries too.

I love that people like Al bring their skills to the wedding industry which until recently has been saturated with samey sameness. So don't delay people, go and check him out!

And another cool groom

How fab is this groom and his men?

Think Huckleberry Finn, perfect for a barn&farm wedding.
Simple rustic chic.

Retro wedding party

The clients from this fab wedding party had a super elegant and intimate wedding at Beauberry House on the Friday and wanted a totally fun and colourful party the next day. A brilliant idea if you can't decide what type of wedding to have (and have the money to do both)!

Julia bought the decorations she wanted and I went along to style it for her so she and her hubby could turn up relaxed and stress free to start her second party.

Here are some iphone pics...

Julia (the bride), works for Wedding magazine as an art director and is a wedding photographer herself. See her blog for more about her work.

Super cool groom

So the whole of the wedding is wonderfully chilled out and relaxed, (see it at the fab Green Wedding Shoes) but this groom deserves special mention.

Love the colours and that waistcoat is awesome.

I think its brilliant the way it's becoming more common for grooms to get as much attention stylistically as their brides.
